The climate here on the northern plains brings many challenges withg extreme swings in temperatures and moisture patterns. Sespite these challenges we love what we do and where we live.
We farm and raise registered Black Angus cattle, and take great pride in both sides or our operation. Our family feedlot feeds out the bulls for the Northern Premier Sale from weaning to the sale. We also have a heifer developement program and feed several groups of heifers for area producers. While in the feedlot, the bulls and replacement heifers undergo a comprehensive pre-breeding vaccination series and are freeze branded with number ID's.
We strive to pruduce mother cows that are efficient in the harsh climate and feed conditions of North Central Montana. We forus on good udders, correct feet and kind temperments. Our females are raised and bred to calve easy, be good mothers and produce enough milk to wean a big calf.
The herd sires are selected for their balanced EPD profile, good temperament and trait reliability. We utilize artificial insemination in our entire herd and our herd sires are selected with the A.I. sires in mind. Our focus is on calving ease, strong phenotype structure, gentle temperment and respectable carcass traits. Our goal is to deliver bulls and cows that are able to travel well in rough environments, maintain on forage, and hold up for years of productivity; easy to calve and easy to breed back, producing calves in the fall that will keep an operation rolling for years to come.
